Create dynamic, professional layouts of text and imagery for print and digital publishing.

This hands-on workshop teaches participants the ins and outs of Adobe’s extensive design program. From master pages and importing graphics to formatting text and typography, this course encompasses the basics for any individual diving into this industry standard software.

Students work in the digital lab refining their skills both technically and creatively. Participants view many examples of successful design as well as the workflow to accomplish similar projects. Daily lecture and exercises address topics such as page elements, managing styles, working with paths, incorporating external files, managing long documents and pre-flighting and packaging files for print and web publishing. An introduction to digital publishing for tablets and mobile devices will be presented including folio app production, interactive PDF construction, and EPub exporting techniques.

Students should bring samples of their own works for publication or ideas for projects to work on throughout the week.
