Richard Blanco, the historic inaugural poet, teacher, and memoirist, will present this unique weekend of poetry writing from images. At the heart of poetry is the construction of imagery and the concept of verisimilitude.  Known as Ekphrastic Poetry (poetry written about another art form such as a photograph or film or painting), in this workshop you will work from photographic images - some that you bring with you, or others that are presented or taken during the weekend, and write poetry that is inspired by them.
