Transition to Digital Photography
In a time when it seems as though everything imaginable is going digital, hop on and enjoy the ride from film to digital print. This workshop is designed to help traditional film photographers make the transition from wet to digital capture and printmaking.
The class covers all facets of digital workflow including the essentials of converting and preserving your film negatives and slides as digital images for printing, "slide" shows, emailing, photo-sharing web sites like Flickr and Facebook, and preparing images for self-published books using Blurb and other book-making web sites.
Students learn proper scanning techniques, the essential differences and similarities between film and digital cameras, what equipment and software you need and what you don't need.
Everything that can be done in a traditional darkroom you can easily do digitally, plus a whole lot more. If you've successfully used an analog camera, you're ready for the next steps in the digital darkroom.
