In this workshop students explore the boundaries of B&W images - how to make them work hard to tell the stories you want to tell. This workshop is part technique and part artistry, learning to actively listen to the environment and then to interpret it and frame it in B&W. Jesse challenges participants to hone their skills as visual storytellers, working with the camera, the frame and personal vision. Pushing creative boundaries, students discover a new awareness to their surroundings and realize newfound photographic possibilities through to fruition. The week begins with a critique of the ten best images by each student and progresses through daily assignments critiques throughout the week. Through class discussion, slideshows and his own work, Jesse illustrates key points incorporating how to improve skills as photographers and how to maximize results in B&W. Set aside questions about Photoshop and printing, this is a workshop for those who want to spend time with their camera - and have fun doing it.
