Advanced Photoshop Techniques

Jul 25 - Jul 31

Utilize the in-depth techniques Photoshop has to offer

Jean MieleThis advanced workshop offers expert help –  and uninterrupted time – for Photoshop users who have mastered the fundamentals to explore Photoshop’s deeper levels and hidden menus. If layers and masks are second nature and basic workshops no longer excite, this workshop teaches: silhouetting and advanced selection techniques; luminosity masks; advanced blending options; vector masks; the gradient tool; extending tonal range by combining images; the relationship between masks, alpha channels, selections, paths and quickmasks; smart objects and smart filters for non-destructive editing; actions and automation (w/stops & interactions) to streamline workflow; and more!

Students are given step-by-step demonstrations in MMW’s state-of-the-art digital lab, and individual attention to help with specific areas of interest. And no MMW workshop would be complete without a field trip or two to shoot new images to work on (and hone shooting techniques) while exploring, enjoying, and photographing the beauty of mid-coast Maine.

This course is for advanced students, with a prerequisite of Photoshop for Photographers workshop (formerly titled Advanced Digital Photography).  Students should be completely comfortable working with layers and masks in Adobe Photoshop.
