Digital imaging and Apple Computer's Quicktime VR have now made this all-seeing imaging format widely accessible. Electronically, 360 degree Virtual Reality panoramas are seen as virtual tours on the internet by creating an interactive immersive virtual viewing environment. For print, the ultra wide vistas offer a fresh new 360° perspective of environments and spaces.

This comprehensive workshop covers camera and lens choices, setups for shooting panoramas with regular digital cameras, image capture techniques for 360-degree panoramas, aesthetic considerations, processing, stitching and editing the 360-degree image, and finally presenting the images for the web and print.

Participants experience a hands-on introduction to the tools, methods and advanced techniques that change the way one visualizes, shoots and presents 360° panoramas. Participants not only explore creating virtual tours for the e-commerce industry but also explore new image projections that translate panoramas into an infinite world of new visual interpretations.

Participants work with their own digital cameras, using ultra-wide angle and fisheye lenses and then assemble the panorama from a series of overlapping images using a variety of stitching software products.  Photo-editing and remapping software is used to process final panoramic images.
