Podcasting

This workshop teaches participants the tools needed to create a podcast that will capture the unique viewpoint of the podcaster.

Podcasting is an efficient, powerful, and intimate tool for connecting directly with audiences. Podcasts can be audio only or video and audio combined, and have become a standard tool for established media outlets, as well as amateurs new to the field.

From a school faculty member making a lecture available to students, journalists recording interviews or in-depth reporting, news-magazine and audio variety shows, or any artist, writer, or performer who wishes to produce a show, podcasts have truly put “broadcasting” into the hands of the masses. This workshop teaches participants the tools needed to create a podcast that will capture the unique viewpoint of the podcaster. The course covers every aspect of podcasting, from content creation, audio editing, image capture and editing, rss tagging, and posting content to the web. Participants work with digital audio recorders, digital still and video cameras, and various software solutions to achieve a final piece.

At the end of class the completed podcasts are posted live on the Maine Media Workshops website.
