Journalists are increasingly responsible for more than one means of content gathering. Whether it be photography, video or audio, the burden of content gathering is becoming increasingly difficult to handle. Learning how to handle these multiple rolls is an invaluable skill in contemporary journalism.

Through daily assignments meant to emulate the cycle of newsrooms across the country, students learn how to juggle the many responsibilities of convergence journalism while producing compelling multimedia stories. Daily critiques provide immediate feedback for students’ work.

Students should bring a digital SLR camera and headphones. It is not required to bring a video camera as the school has some for check out, but students may find it more convenient to bring their own.
