Multimedia with Canon HDSLRs

Explore the unique opportunities and challenges of working with the latest technology.

Capturing video from still cameras opens up new and exciting storytelling possibilities. This class is geared towards multimedia journalists/documentarians who are looking to learn the ins and outs of recording and producing video with Canon’s HDSLRs.

Through daily demonstrations and field exercises students explore advanced video techniques and sound capture. The creative range of Canon’s HDSLRs -- influenced by their high ISO performance, silky color rendition, and wide selection of compatible lenses—creates distinctive footage reminiscent of more specialized and cumbersome devices.

After a day’s shoot, students learn workflow and editing techniques with the HDSLRs video and sound files. Working with Final Cut Pro, students learn the power of editing by examining timing, sound, and sequencing.

A basic understanding of Final Cut Pro is required.
