Wedding videography is a growing industry as more and more couples are choosing to supplement their photography package. This course is for filmmakers, videographers and photographers interested in expanding and utilizing their skill sets in a medium that can be artistically and financially rewarding. Lectures focus on the “must capture” moments in a wedding, different stylistic approaches to capturing traditional and candid shots, audio options and editing. The course also covers business aspects such as marketing and client relations.
In addition to demonstrations and exercises, the class travels to a beautiful Midcoast Maine location to apply in-class lessons to film a couple in a romantic setting. Students upload raw footage in class and edit the material into a wedding highlight/preview video.
Students are encouraged to bring the cameras they plan to use for future wedding shoots. However, equipment can be provided for those without. Interested photographers must have some basic video experience with both filming and non-linear editing.
