In this workshop, you will begin to understand how important camera, and the related cinematic implications, begin to shape your story. You will explore the art of fiction film techniques and how they can be exploited to the non-fiction documentary story.  You will also understand how story gets translated through the lens of the camera.

You and your class will re-create and study minimal/natural lighting setups, composition, scene coverage, interview techniques, portraiture, lens/camera options, and post production/color grading techniques.  Exercises are shot using the latest in DSLR and digital camera technology and will be reviewed in class.

In September come early and attend the Camden International Film Festival, a dynamic small town festival with big films, big sponsors, and amazing good times to make it ten days of documentary bliss. To get tickets to CIFF just head on over to
