Digital Color Correction (WS)

The visual aesthetic of a production supports the story as much as any other aspect. In this course, students learn the technical tools and artistic choices available using the most current color correction software. The class explores the implications and methodology of both primary and secondary corrections, and students learn how to ensure that a program meets broadcast standards. The workshop covers workflows for both Final Cut Pro and Color and how the two applications are related. Students learn to use the waveform monitor and vectorscope along with other video scopes to match shots for color continuity and grade programs to add dramatic impact. Students gain an understanding of the skills that an on-the-job colorist needs and how a colorist collaborates with a film's director and cinematographer.

Winter/ Spring lodging and meal package available $450.
