Corporate Writing - An Inspired Approach

If film is art, corporate writing is all about translation and design. Created for writers and producers working in corporate and government settings, this one-week course gives you the tools and inspiration you need to tell compelling stories that speak to your audience and make you more valuable to your organization. Learn from corporate communications experts alongside your peers in an intimate class setting designed around your unique needs and experiences.

You’ll get an in depth look into the writer/producer’s role in video production today, with formal lectures, creative exercises, and hands-on assignments. You’ll learn the “Four Truths” of good storytelling, as well as the fundamentals of scripting – understanding your audience, brainstorming, getting organized, grammar, editing, sentence structure, and visualizing (what to show instead of say). You’ll also work on a project for a real client, giving you a chance to hone your presentation skills, pitch the big idea and sell-in your concept. The class will also have an opportunity to explore other aspects of corporate communications, including social media, intranets, mobile apps and more.

Take your thinking out of the cubicle to a whole new level. You’re encouraged to bring your work in progress and/or project ideas to share with instructors and the class.

Bob Rosswaag

As a creative lead for JWT INSIDE (a subsidiary of J. Walter Thompson), Bob helps manage the development of long-range employee engagement strategies, videos, and campaigns for some of the world's most visible corporations. At JWT INSIDE, Bob specializes in developing employee engagement and internal marketing strategies for clients that include Merrill Lynch, Comcast, HSBC Bank USA, Capital One, Unilever, Marriott International, the U.S. Marines, Dominos, ABC News, Lipton, Novell, and many others. Bob holds bachelor degrees in communication and English and a master's degree in English from Seton Hall University. He has also taught courses in advertising, writing and English at the University.

Jeanne Reilly

Jeanne ReillyWhile a Senior Manager for Kraft Foods, Creative Services, Jeanne was the driving force behind hundreds of promotional and motivational videos and training presentations across a variety of media. Much of her work has been honored for its creative and technical excellence.

Producer, director, rainmaker, coach, Jeanne wears many hats, knows where the talent is, and has gathered together an extensive network of the most innovative, successful and award winning talent in corporate broadcast and film/video production. And, along the way, she helped them create some of their best work.

Jeanne has worked with C-Suite executives, A-List celebs, and just about everyone in between. She’s a teacher, formerly at Seton Hall University and the Maine Media Workshops  as well as on the set. And a student – of yoga, of good food, and of life.

After 30 years working in corporate America, Jeanne has taken on a new role as an independent multimedia Producer/Director working with top 50 and non-profit organizations. She's well prepared for this new chapter in her professional life - and excited by the possibilities ahead.
