The Canon Cinema camera system is revolutionizing the film production world, allowing Directors of Photography the ability to achieve a cinematic look and work with any shooting setup. The Canon Cinema system boasts numerous innovations in advanced technology.  The 35mm sensor is capable of recording a dynamic range in any lighting situation with a sophisticated HD motion picture system that works with both zoom and prime lenses.

This workshop covers the all technical aspects of working with the Canon Cinema cameras such as menu settings, image monitoring, still and cine lens options, filters, exposure control, cine-style accessories, camera support, data management and workflow. Visual aesthetics are discussed with regard to composition, depth-of-field, shot design, camera movement, and lighting.

Students shoot short projects and exercises to become familiar with the equipment and practice the art of developing a visual narrative.

It is recommended that students take Digital Cinematography or a level 3 photography class prior to this course.
