Producing the NGO Documentary

Jun 13 - Jun 19

Learn to develop and produce compelling video programming for Non-Governmental Organizations and aid and relief agencies.

Aid and relief agencies and NGOs increasingly use film to fund and promote their work around the world in areas of need, crisis, or natural and man-made disasters. This one-week workshop is for those who want to increase their knowledge and skills in using new video technology for creating compelling training, communications, and public education programming. The week begins with an exploration into the process by which the work of the world's relief agencies and government is captured, edited, and disseminated worldwide. Fundraising, public awareness objectives, staff training, education, and program packaging and distribution are covered. Students screen and analyze projects and campaigns from around the world. This is a practical, hands-on field production course where students use the latest digital video technology to create projects for review and critique during the week.
