ROCKPORT, Maine – Tuesday, August 26, from 6-8:30PM, Maine Media Workshops hosts an opening reception for the Workshops Gallery final exhibition of the summer: “35 Years of Photography in Union Hall.”
In celebration of the Workshops anniversary, this show is inspired by the magical memories made by faculty in the first building to be home to the school when it was founded in 1973.
“Union Hall holds a very special place in our hearts,” says Elizabeth Greenberg, Workshops instructor and Director of Education who first came to the Workshops in 1991 as an intern, “So many great artists have taught here, shared their work here, and been inspired by the unique character of this building. We wanted to celebrate its history which is so much a part of ours.”
Featured artists in the show include George Tice, Jim Hughes, Elizabeth Oaplenik, Sean Kernan, Joyce Tennseon, and Lucien Clerque. The exhibition runs through October 10.
The Workshops Gallery is located in the heart of Rockport Village, in the Union Hall building at 2 Central Street. The gallery is open from Mon. – Wed. 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Thurs. – Fri. 11:30 AM - 5:00 PM, and Sat. 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM through August.
