The Maine Media College Professional Certificate Program is in high gear as students approach the completion of their third trimester and graduation.

As part of their professional development curriculum, film students recently traveled to New York during the Tribeca Film Festival. The Tribeca Film Institute, an educational partner of Maine Media Workshops, invited our students to volunteer and observe at the Institute’s All Access events, including filmmaking workshops and industry pitch sessions.

Back in Rockport this week, they are on set working to complete filming of their final projects and start post-production. Photography students are working to fine-tune their printing and toning skills as they prepare final portfolios for critique and exhibition.

The Maine Media College 2009 Graduation show is set for Thursday, May 28 in nearby Rockland, Maine. Film screenings take place at the Strand Theatre (345 Main Street) from 5 – 6:30PM, and the photography exhibition at Asymmetric Arts (499 Main Street) is from 6:30 – 8:30PM. The exhibition runs May 20 – 28.
