Join legendary, international photographer and MMW instructor, Peter Turnley, for his dynamic workshop Streets of New York August 14 – 20. Daily meetings and shooting expeditions with Leica M9 cameras will add depth, glamour and excitement to your portfolio.
Meet in Turnley’s Upper West Side apartment. Learn Cartier-Bresson’s spirit of capturing the “decisive moments” of daily life. Find a sense of purpose and explore personal interests; then, in your own photographic language, create an extraordinary narrative.
“New York City is a visual banquet and a photographer’s paradise. August is a relatively quiet time in the city and that creates moments of calm and space to absorb the rich landscape of the urban backdrop. It’s a fun time to sit in cafes on the street, walk the Highline, bicycle by the rivers, meander over the bridges and sit at midnight in Times Square surrounded by action,” Anna Ginn, photographer, MMW+C board member and NYC resident.
“Using the Leica M9 is crucial when it comes down to the fast-paced photography needed to capture the immediate moments that happen so quickly. That fraction of a second can be the difference between getting that perfect shot,” Jason Esposito, MMW Photo Program Manager.
Enjoy the best of the USA this August in the City of Golden Dreams.
