William’s interest in the visual arts began at an early age—photography and lighting design for school theater productions. His career in photography officially began at the Maine Photographic Workshops in Rockport. Geddes enjoys working with a wide range of subject matter, from intimate still life and interiors to loose and carefree lifestyle assignments—and often times a mix of all three in one shoot.
William has photographed ads and catalogs for Mannington Floors, Bloomingdales, JC Penny, Pittsburgh Paints and Todd Hase, as well as numerous interior design projects for Gomez Associates, Haynes-Roberts, Michael Graves & Associates, Eric Cohler, and Bunny Williams. He has contributed to many interior design books by Rockport publishers and has completed a book Inside The Hotel Pattee, an historical landmark in Iowa. Three home entertainment titles have been published for Stewart, Tabori & Chang in the past three years. Editorial clients include Child, Entree, Essence, Garden Design, Modern Bride, Parenting, Redbook, and Ladies Home Journal.
In addition to his commercial work, William received a Master of Fine Arts in Photography and Related Technologies from Parsons—The New School for Design, and pursues personal projects and exhibition opportunities whenever possible. He makes his home in New York City with his wife and two daughters.
