Susan Hayre Thelwell

A Texas native now based in New Mexico, Susan works on long-term personal documentary photography projects and teaches photography and photographic technology around the country and in Norway. Her work has been collected by the New Mexico Museum of Art, the State of New Mexico through the Art in Public Places Program, the Palace of the Govenors , the Portland Museum of Art in Maine, Rockport College, and the Centro Fotografico Alvarez Bravo in Oaxaca, Mexico. Susan's project Mitchell’s Lot has been featured in PDN and in Fraction magazines.  Her Blurb book of that project was awarded Honorable Mention in the Blurb Photography.Book.Now competition in 2008. She is pursuing her MFA in Photography through the limited residency program at the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford.
