Born in the United Kingdom, Paul is a veteran of forty years as an artist, designer and writer in the world of animated films. From the 1970's he worked in Europe on  numerous television specials like The Snowman, television commercials, training films and some classic feature films like Watership Down and Heavy Metal. In 1995 he was brought to the US by Steven Spielberg's brand new studio, Dreamworks. Paul has credits on many Dreamworks films including Shrek, Madagascar, Over the Hedge, Bee Movie and How To Train your Dragon.

In 2007 he was nominated for an Annie, the animation world's Oscar, for Production Design on Over the Hedge. He now spends his time writing, painting and teaching and lives in Hollywood, California and Bath, Maine.
