Kevin J. Johnson received his first camera, a Canon AE-1, as a high school graduation gift. Photography was initially a hobby for him but gradually became his passion. In 2003 he decided to leave the "9 to 5 world" to pursue a career in fine art photography. He relocated from Vermont to Maine in August 2003 to attend Rockport College and The Maine Photographic Workshops, where he earned a Professional Certificate in Photography. He currently works as the Photography Archivist for the Penobscot Marine Museum and is a part owner of Aarhus Gallery in Belfast, ME. Kevin's work has been published in Seven Days newspaper in Burlington, Vermont as well as in Vermont Life's 2004 calendar series. His work has been exhibited at the CMCA, Unity College, Perimeter Gallery, University of Maine in Augusta and Opus Gallery. Kevin works primarily in nature and is carving out his own niche as a modernist landscape photographer.
