Kelly Mena

© David BrommerKelly Mena is a New York City based cinematographer with experience in both documentary and narrative filmmaking. She holds a BA in Psychology from Vassar College and studied film at Maine Media Workshops. For the past five years, Kelly has been working as a videographer and editor, specializing in high-end weddings. She was the video manager for a top New York event studio before breaking out on her own as a freelancer.  

 Kelly’s approach to filming a wedding is cinematic and visually artistic. She focuses on beauty, fashion, and the small details that bring about the experience of the day. Through editing, she creates an overall story. Her wedding videographer workshop will focus on the different approaches to filming a wedding and the various artistic choices a videographer makes in order to obtain a desirable end product.

 She has assisted with many classes at Maine Media Workshops through the years and has enjoyed working with a variety of students in courses that ranged from beginner level to advanced production. Amidst freelancing, she is presently a Pro User in the marketing department at B&H Photo Video Pro Audio. At B&H, she markets at nation wide trade shows and focuses on the newest cinematic technologies.
