Carl Hansen is an award-winning filmmaker and freelance producer who has been involved with many successful unscripted and variety series. He was a supervising producer on the critically lauded docu-series Boston Med (ABC News) where he was instrumental in the coverage of only the 2nd partial-face transplant in the U.S. Carl was also supervising producer of Bully Beatdown (MTV), the top-rated MSN/Reveille web series, Pop of the Day, as well as three series for Budweiser’s internet portal, Bud.TV., He is currently a staff line producer at One Three Media (a Hearst/Mark Burnett Company) and is a co-executive producer of Shark Tank (ABC).

Some of Carl’s other television credits include School Pride (NBC), Mind of Mencia (Comedy Central), Weekends at the DL (Comedy Central), Trading Spouses (FOX), Joe Millionaire (FOX), Life of Luxury (ABC), The Next Episode (Showtime), The Osbournes (MTV), and Fear (MTV). He has been working in the film and television industry since he was 14, when his first paid job was as a production assistant on the feature film Housesitter.

Six of his short films were made in forty-eight hours as part of the 48 Hour Film Project. One of these, TGIF: The Musical, won the top prize at the 2009 Boston Comedy & Movie Festival and garnered Carl his first Best Director award. Previous films include Life After, which won five awards (including an audience award), and Cookie de Mayo, which was voted as one of the top ten 48 hour films in Los Angeles. Because of that success, he and his team were invited to make a short branded film, Carpet Diem, (also in 48 hours) for Visa. His work has been featured by Fox Searchlight’s SearchLab and his films have been shown at numerous film festivals, winning multiple awards.

Carl graduated cum laude from Ithaca College.
