Brenton Hamilton
Brenton Hamilton received his MFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design and holds an undergraduate degree in art and design from Lagrange College in Georgia. He is a photographer, visual artist, unique and dedicated teacher, and the chairman of the Professional Certificate Program in photography at Maine Media College.
A practicing artist who uses a variety of media within his photography, Brenton is devoted to the 19th Century cyanotype process combining gum washes, cyanotype, and platinum emulsions. Currently, he is at work on a large body of historically influenced and wildly adjusted allegories, fables, and tales. Brenton is a founding member of Obscura, a non- profit organization with a mission to support arts education for youth. He has just published his first monograph, The Blue Poet Dreams, in 2010. His work is represented by: Tilt Gallery in Arizona and Susan Maasch Fine Art in Portland, Maine.
