Braden Chattman

A photographer, educator and lover of pixels Braden has spent the last 15 years immersed in the photo industries’ conversion to digital media. With a fine art education and a passion for technology and photography Braden has touched every corner of the industry.

Braden’s career began in NYC providing retouching, image editing and post-production for an impressive array of photographers and companies. He soon found himself working as a consultant helping museums, libraries, studios, print labs, photographers and their studios develop cutting-edge digital capture systems and asset managed workflows. He provided training and technical assistance for photographers and studios developing award winning imaging editing software along the way. In time Braden and his family  landed out West where Braden began working for a major retailer running a team of retouchers.

From a family of educators it was a natural fit when Braden joined the Hallmark Institute of Photography four years ago. As the head of the Digital Department at Hallmark he uses his understanding of the craft to inform the next generation of image creators in the latest pixel editing techniques as well as how to use technology to elevate their images potential at capture. Whether you are a novice or a pro his enthusiasm and wit make even the most complex aspects of digital imaging accessible and even fun. Braden’s work as a teacher is enhanced by the work he and his wife Joanna do together as Chattman Photography. Taking their unique style of shooting to a diverse range of clients, from weddings and portraits to fashion and architecture. When Braden takes a break from pixels and lenses he spends his time playing Legos with his son and rubbing the bellies of his smush faced dogs.
