Angel Dean Lopez has joined the writing and producing staffs of eight (and counting!) network one-hour television shows, including Judging Amy, New York Undercover, and Showtime's Sleeper Cell, as well as consulted on additional shows such as Private Practice and Angel. Most recently, he was head writer on the innovative NBC/Universal and Telemundo bilingual dramela series RPM Miami. He has written drama pilots for CBS, The CW, and for WBTV. In 2006, his spec pilot script "The Bent Dick Squad" was named a Best Unproduced Drama Pilot by Written By magazine.
In addition to his television credits, he has completed feature film writing assignments for producers like Oliver Stone and Joel Silver and has written original feature screenplays optioned by studios and performers.
He continues to mentor and teach young writers, first as an instructor at UCLA Extension, and then as a visiting professor at Cal State Fullerton. Raised in the San Gabriel Valley and North Texas, he holds a BA from Harvard University and an MFA from the School of Cinema-Television at USC.
