Alan is a photographer and educator who is particularly interested in how the still image can invoke the personality of the artist as well as that of the place or individual.
Alan holds a degree in Environmental Science and Photography from SUNY Buffalo. He frequently lectures on photography and his work has been featured in galleries around the United States and abroad as well as in publications such as the Leica Blog, Elle China, PDN edu, and USA Today.
Alan loves to travel and regularly tempts the food-poisoning Gods by consuming unnatural amounts of street food.
Together Alan and Morrigan own Restless Collective, an umbrella company for their multimedia projects. They have spent the past six years designing and producing long-term photographic projects and have received numerous grants and sponsorships for their work. The resulting work has been shown in galleries and public spaces around the world, and has been showcased in international publications.
