Tom Robotham

Tom Robotham is a Director of Photography in the International Cinematographers Guild, based in Hollywood. He is one of only 17 Guild D.P.Õs in Massachusetts. Tom has lit and shot five feature films, plus numerous commercials, music videos, documentary and corporate projects. In addition to traditional film work in 35mm and Super16, he has shot professionally in HD24p and the range of video and digital video formats. He has also written, produced, directed and edited commercials, PSAÕs, and narrative shorts including his own project ÒDesperate MeasuresÓ, which won six awards on the festival circuit and was screened at ten festivals in the USA and Canada.

Tom is a graduate of Hampshire College, where he received his BA in Visual Arts, after spending his third year at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in the sculpture program. His sculptures have been purchased for private and corporate collections, and his large scale floating works commissioned by the Cambridge Arts Council. He switched from sculpture to movies after he first picked up a Super 8 camera in 1992. Just three years later, he had passed the Guild exam in the DP category, and has been shooting professionally ever since.
