Rick Brown is a television producer and writer with extensive experience in network and local news, along with journalism education.
For the past eight years, Rick has been one of the primary field producers for NBC News in New England, covering stories for Nightly News, the Today Show, CNBC and MSNBC. These have included the World Trade Center disaster in New York, the SARS outbreak in Toronto, the Catholic Church scandal in Boston, and the death of Senator Ted Kennedy on Cape Cod. Rick has produced segments for ABC News, CNN, ESPN, Extra, Maine Public Television and many others.
Earlier in his career, he was a producer and bureau manager for CBS News in Chicago, and a reporter, newscast producer and news director at WITI-TV in Milwaukee.
Rick was an assistant professor in journalism education for five years at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, running the Chicago phase of the graduate broadcast program. He also has taught at Emerson College in Boston, the University of Maine, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
