Barbara Schock, an indie filmmaker/director, produced two independent features, California without End and From Hollywood to Deadwood, and assisted on Alien 3 before attending afi as a directing fellow. Her thesis film, My Mother Dreams the Satan's Disciples in New York, won an Oscar for Best Live Action Short and a dga award, among others. A member of the Academy serving on the Executive Committee for Short Film and Feature Animation, she teaches at Chapman University.
