Volunteering is an excellent way to become involved in our creative community and to see some of Maine’s most wonderful artwork! Maine Media Gallery leans on the help of its volunteers to maintain its open hours, interact with gallery visitors, and assist in the general upkeep of the space. The help of our volunteers is incredibly important to the life of our gallery! If you are interested in volunteering please contact the gallery manager, Sarah Whitling, at swhitling[at]mainemedia.edu
March 5 - April 12

Thursday, March 13, 5-7pm
For centuries and across cultures, artists have represented the world as it may be envisioned through ephemeral images of inner visions, fantasies, mysteries and the unreal. This contest was an opportunity for our international community of photographers, filmmakers, and writers of all ages to present their representations of dreams to a distinguished panel of judges. On display in the Maine Media Gallery, from March 5th though April 12th, will be the winners from all three categories: photography, film, and writing. The 29 awards were won by 24 individuals, and come from 6 countries (including the U.S.) and 11 states in the U.S.

The Maine Media Gallery is located at 18 Central Street, in Rockport, Maine, next to Shepherds Pie.
From the North:
Travelling South on Route One, proceed through Camden, and continue past the Hannaford Plaza. Turn left on Main Street in Rockport, just beyond Maine Sport. Proceed straight on Main Street past the police and fire station on your left to the center of Rockport village. After passing Pascal Avenue with its bridge on the right, follow curve to the left onto Central Street, past Union Hall, on your right (the first red brick building), and continue to the second large brick building on your right. The Maine Media Gallery is the far left entrance on the street level of 18 Central Street, in the Shepherd Building.
From the South:
If you are coming from the South, take Interstate 95 north into Maine. Take the South Portland Exit (I-295) and follow I-295 through Portland. Continue on I-295 to the Brunswick Route 1 Exit (Exit 28). Follow Route One through Brunswick, Bath, Woolwich, Wiscasset, Damariscotta and Waldoboro to Warren - about 45 miles, where you'll find Route 90 at a blinking yellow light. Take a left onto Route 90 and follow it 12 miles to the third set of stop lights. The Market Basket, a green barn, will be on your right. Proceed straight through the lights until you reach a "T" intersection. Turn left and proceed on Pascal Avenue toward Rockport village. After crossing the bridge at the head of the harbor, turn right onto Main Street. Follow curve to the left onto Central Street, past Union Hall, on your right (the first red brick building), and continue to the second large brick building on your right. The Maine Media Gallery is the far left entrance on the street level of 18 Central Street, in the Shepherd Building.
