The Yarka Vendrinska: Heart of Concern exhibit is a tribute to the memory of Yarka Vendrinska a blossoming photojournalist, who passed away at the early age of 32. In 2003 her parents started The Yarka Vendrinska Photojournalism Scholarship, which helps photojournalists get the chance to take a class at Maine Media Workshops, a place that Yarka loved. In her artist statement Yarka explained "This work is a labor of love and commitment, a commitment to tell stories of people, one person, one issue, and one place in time." This exhibit will not only showcase work by Yarka but by the scholarship winners.
Exhibit will be held in The Maine Media Gallery from June 1st- June 29th
Opening Tuesday June 7th from 6:30- 8:00pm
