In this not to be missed event, Maine Media Workshops is pleased to present Arnold Newman's "What is a Portrait?", from his last presentation at the Workshops in the summer of 2005. Following the screening, members of the MMW faculty discuss the impact of Arnold Newman's work in the context of 20th century photography and his role as mentor and teacher.
"What is a Portrait?" is the concluding and complementary event to "The Influence of Arnold Newman" exhibition at the Maine Media Gallery. The exhibition will be on display July 26- August 14. The show highlights the work of several artists who have connections to the Workshops and have become renowned photographers in their own right.
This event will take place Saturday, August 14 at 2 pm in Union Hall, located at 2 Central Street in Rockport Village.
