Maine Media alum Cathryn Griffith recently released a book entitled Havana Revisited: An Architectural Heritage. She will be will be hosting a Book Signing and Video Screening on Tuesday, July 27 at 5 pm.
The book explores and documents the evolution of the architecture in the iconic Cuban city. With contributions from eleven renowned architects, historians, scholars, preservationists, and urban planners from Cuba and the United States, the book examines the juxtaposition of historical and modern Havana. The book is also filled with illustrations and photographs to demonstrate the beauty of Havana.
Cathryn also teamed up with MMW instructor Jonathan Laurence to create a video that captures the ways in which past and present interweave with one another in Havana. This video will also be screened at the event.
This event takes place at the Rockport Opera House at 6 Central Street in Rockport Village. The $10 entry fee includes light snacks, with free admission for current MMW participants.
