Faculty Presentations the week of June 20 will take place at Union Hall Theatre, 2 Central Street in Rockport Village at 8:00 pm.

Monday, June 20: Bobbi Lane & Derek Kimball

Bobbi Lane is a commercial photographer specializing in creative portraits in studio and on location. Lane's multi-faceted approach to photography incorporates over 30 years of technical experience with innovative artistic interpretation. Her stock photography has sold worldwide for ads, posters, and billboards, from clients that include: Aramco, Charles Schwab, GE, Warner Bros., PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bose Corp., Mattel, McDonnell/Douglas, Sears' Tower Skydeck, and Sekonic Meters.

Derek Kimball is a Portland, Maine-based filmmaker and teacher. After nearly a decade teaching directing and cinematography for New York Film Academy, Boston College and Emerson College, Derek returned home to focus on his own work. As writer/director he has completed three award-winning short films in the past two years.

Tuesday, June 21: Stephen Johnson & Debbie Fleming Caffery

A photographer, teacher and designer, Stephen Johnson has been teaching and working in photography since 1977. His books include At Mono Lake, the critically acclaimed The Great Central Valley: California's Heartland and Making a Digital Book. He runs his own photography, publishing and design company - scanning and preparing his photographic books using a Macintosh computer and now photographing in the field with digital view cameras.

Debbie Fleming Caffery is highly regarded for her work in both fine art and documentary photography and received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2005. She is a winner of the Lou Stoumen Award (1996), the Governor of Louisiana's Award for Excellence in the Arts and a Katrina Media Fellowship, George Soros Foundation, 2006. Her photographs are included in numerous public collections including the Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Institute, and the Bibliotecque Nationale in Paris.

Wednesday, June 22 & Thursday, June 23: Michael Roemer

Michael presents two in his collection of films. Born in Berlin, Germany in 1928, he has produced, directed and written dozens of films. These have been shown and won prizes at the Venice, London, New York, Cannes, Toronto and Bergano film festivals. An Emmy award nominee, Michael continues to teach at Yale University. This summer, on the occasion of the DVD release of seven of Michael’s films, he comes to Maine Media to screen two of these films, shot 20 years apart and representing very different aspects of our lives.
