An evening with Lance Edmands & Kyle Martin August 1

Multi-talented Kyle Martin and Lance Edmands, key members of the filmmaking team that helped create last year’s acclaimed indie success Tiny Furniture ("Best Narrative Feature" 2010 SXSW, "Best First Screenplay" Independent Spirit Award), will be sharing their experiences of the independent film world, showing clips of past work and talking about their upcoming project Bluebird which will be shooting in Millinocket in January 2012.

 

In addition to Tiny Furniture, past films that have resulted from their collaboration include Wild Combination: A Portrait of Arthur Russell (premiered at the 2007 Berlin Film Festival, released theatrically in 2008, and aired on the Sundance Channel), New York Export: Opus Jazz (a location-shot Jerome Robbins Ballet, produced for PBS' Great Performances series) and the upcoming feature documentary Teenage based on the book by Jon Savage (Time Travel: From the Sex Pistols to Nirvana, Teenage: The Creation of Youth Culture). Kennebunk native Edmands will also share his student Academy Award nominated Vacationland (2006 Berlin International Film Festival).

 

This event takes place at 8:00pm on August 1st in the Union Hall Theater, which is located at 2 Central Street in Rockport Village. Admission is free and open to the public.
